Boosts Metabolic Rate
A 2011 study found that acai berry has the ability to speed up the metabolic rate safely. The 30-day trial involves tracking the progress of 10 overweight adults that were given 2 tablets of acai berry supplements a day.
Throughout the clinical trial, researchers measured the levels of fasting plasma glucose, insulin, cholesterol, triglycerides, nitric oxide metabolites and plasma levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) among participants.
They found that the participants lose modest amount of weight because of a faster metabolic rate.
